Spam/Junk emails going straight to Inbox since update

Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Since I received an email update from BT about them 'upgrading' our Email systems (last month), I have noticed that the usual SPAM/JUNK emails that used to go straight to the SPAM/JUNK folder are now instead going straight to my INBOX folder.

This is not a coincidence and I am concerned.

Please would someone let me know how and why this is happening?

Different mail system, different spam filters.

It is possibly that you have been moved onto the new BTMail system. If you were moved, this is a different system from the one you were on and as such the spam engine/filters are different from the ones that were previously being used.

This will necessitate the spam engine/filter learning what and what is not spam. Eventually they will catch up but until then to help speed up the process you should mark items that you consider as spam as spam and they will be removed from your inbox.
