Re: Thunderbird email client fails to connect to mail server.

Go to solution

The problem is account specific and does not affect every email account holder or even all the email accounts held by one account holder.

The problem generally only affects BTYahoo email account holders and contrary to what some people think BT are aware of the problem and have tried to address it to the extent that they are now migrating all BTYahoo email accounts away from Yahoo and onto the new BTMail system.

If you are a BTYahoo email account user, your email account will be migrated at some point and hopefully the problem will no longer happen to you.

The migration is being done on an email account by email account basis and not on a customer basis  ie not all of the customer's email accounts will be migrated at the same time.

You can not request to be migrated, it will just happen when it happens.

See links about the migration

Many thanks for the above information. I look forward to the migration taking place as I'm now seeing the same TB 'fail to connect to mail server' msg on a different BT email account.
