Unable to insert link into email body text

Go to solution

Hi.

When I attempt to insert a link into my email, I use the embedded link facility. I type into the top box text that I want to be seen (normally the actual address). The second box by default has the yahoo address greyed out. I type over that to insert the link that I want (as the address in the first box). The link appears as I wanted in the text of my email, but when it is clicked,, it goes to my own email, which means that everyone that I sent the email to can read my entire email boxes. How do I ensure that this doesnrt happen again. Is there another wauy odf inserting links?

Thank you

Are you using webmail or an email client?

If you want to insert a link you should use the insert link button.

First of all place your cursor where you want the link to appear in the body of your email message.

Click on the insert link button and when it opens you should paste the link's address/URL that you are wanting to use into the second box. (What URL should this link go to). Once that has been entered you can the change the "Text to Display" box to name the link anything you want.

Once you have done that click OK and the link should be entered where you placed the cursor.

Re: Unable to insert link into email body text

Hi

I have discovered that the error is mine. The yahoo address remained as the default url because the url that I overtyped to replace it was incorrect. Once I either typed or pasted the correct url over the yahoo address, everything was fine.

Thank you again
