I am just getting a message saying “go back” someone might be trying to steal your information etc.    Go Back where?

"Go Back" is part of the security alert some of us are seeing. When I click on go back it takes me to my home page.

Some more information on the security alert when trying to access BT email:

Web sites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for home.bt.com.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

Re: Unable to log in to email - Help!

It would appear that there is a problem at BT's end.

The logon page has the following information displayed.

We're making some changes to your Email log in

We'll shortly be making some changes to the way you access your BT email,

What does this mean for you?

  • If you sometimes use your BT ID to log into your email account this will no longer be possible
  • If you have a favourite email address, account switching between accounts will not be available; you'll have to log into each email address separately
  • You'll log into BT email at www.bt.com/email
  • If you want to manage your email or check your bill you'll log in at www.bt.com/login
  • There is no change if you use an email client or the BT Email App
  • This will provide greater security for your accounts

We'll be in touch nearer the time, but you may want to start changing the way you log into your email now

Same problem here. Cannot reach bt.com from Firefox on PC
Cannot log in on Android phone

Guess we just need to wait and see, because BT are not going to post any info

Re: Unable to log in to email - Help!

I'm getting message this afternoon as follows:

"Visiting an untrustworthy website has been prevented.

One or more of this website's certificates are invalid, so we can't guarantee its authenticity.  This happens when the website's owner hasn't update the certificate in time, or if it's a fake site created by scammers.  Visiting a website like this makes you more vulnerable to attack.

You were protected from visiting this website by xxxxx security.  You can close this window with no risk."

BT clearly have not failed to update their certificate (valid until 2023) so there is something else going on.

I keep getting that my connection isn't private, and that attackers are trying to steal my information.
