Unable to send emails: ‘spam, or phishing or malware’

Go to solution

I have suddenly been unable to send any emails from only one account on my Thunderbird client, receiving the error message ‘Alert An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded:  We're sorry, but we can't send your email.  Either the subject matter, a link, or an attachment potentially contains spam, or phishing or malware.  Please check or edit your message and try sending it again. (6-1-1-2) ID (5ED9BDD03E614FAC). Please check the message and try again.’

I can receive emails and send from my other BT accounts. The error occurs with even simple test messages (no subject, message, or attachment) and when attempting to Reply to messages sent from one of my other accounts. I can send from BT Email online. I have tried factory resetting the BT Hub and I do not have VPN.

Any suggestions?

Resolved rather than solved. This problem rectified itself overnight without further intervention from me. The solution (in my case at least) was seemingly just to be patient!
