Very Delayed Emails

Hi,

This weekend I had some emails arrive in my inbox which suggest severe delays in a BT email server.

One of these emails was a rejection from Microsoft Office 365 group, which sent an rejection email as soon as the email from BT landed on thier servers. (the group will only receive emails from registered addresses, and the @btinternet.com address used wasn't registered).

The Trace that Office365 sent back seems to suggest that the email had actually sat on BT's email servers for almost 18 days.

I also received other mysteriously delayed emails from this email address yesterday.

What is causing this delay?

Regards,

Aaron

Re: Very Delayed Emails

Hi,

Microsoft seems to be rejecting the email from BT and BT simply kept retrying and eventually Microsoft allowed it through.

I'm not sure there is enough info here to tell what exactly is causing Microsoft to reject and then allow it. Also 18 days seems like a long time for BT to retry...
