I have started getting this in the last few days, when i try to sign in to BT email. Hasn't happened before and it is getting irritating.
signin1.bt.com’s server IP address could not be found
Would appreciate any knowledgeable answer - thanks

The next thing to try is to turn off your BT hub for about 30 minutes. When it is turned back on it should have been issued with a new IP address and hopefully be connected to a different BTMail server.
Had you mentioned that you were using a VPN, turning it off would have been my first suggestion.
Sorry about that, I get very fed up with NORTON interfering with things and often it is purely the VPN, any other recommendations?
I would argue that you do not need a VPN for sending/receiving emails. It has security built in. Using a VPN can cause the email supplier to block IP addresses that are used by the VPN because they are often non UK address and can be blacklisted so I would suggest that you turn off your VPN when using email.
I really don't understand this current fad for VPNs
