Re: Yahoo email hack - are BT Yahoo accounts affected?

I am still on BTYahoo and can categorically state that BTYahoo email addresses cannot be managed from MyBT.

That would appear to be supported by the link the moderator posted earlier

That link does definitely work.  I have just used it to change 4 email passwords on Yahoo.

Indeed it does, but you can't get there via MyBT.

As a general comment as to why BT/Sky have not e mailed any customers whose accounts have been compromised, perhaps Yahoo have not told them!

Perhaps you can say what you mean by "managed".

I have explained how I "managed" to change a BTYahoo email password by logging in via MYBT.

I will accept that you may not be able to do that for whatever reason but perhaps you could explain why not.

The advice in  the link

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/47071
for BTYahoo subaccounts differs depending on whether you are the primary account holder or not.

I changed the password via MyBT as the primary account holder so this might explain the difference in opinion and why your statement is probably an oversimplification if not totally wrong.

Re: Yahoo email hack - are BT Yahoo accounts affected?

For the simple reason there is no facility to do so within MyBT. Please explain how you log in to your 'BTID' if you are on BTYahoo.

If you are referring to this screen, it changes your MyBT login, NOT your email password.

To keep it simple at the top of this community page there is a MyBT button.

If you click on that you are presented with  a

Log in to My BT page

I put in my BTID and password and then go to My Extras that includes a Manage BT Yahoo email  button.

Your BTID is not tied to what email system your on.

Our posts crossed. I am not referring to the screen you have posted.

Nope, I get an option to go to My Extras which then only gives me the option to login to BTYahoo mail. No Manage BTYahoo mail option.
