Once again an e-mail address is locked and the advice to open the `secure` tab. Problem is that does not work, says bt not sending data. Last time only managed to resolve by sending a hard copy letter to the corporate HQ in Nottingham in the absence of any meaningful other means of contact with the organisation.

What error message are you getting exactly? Could you copy and paste it please?

Get `cannot connect` message and `no data from bt`. Think the problem is that I do not have bt broadband as my connection is supplied as part of the service in the complex where I live. There does not seem to be a mechanism to get around that.
