I hope I've got the right place for this. My Iphone has suddenly stopped sending email from my account on my iphone. The error is saying: outgoing server "apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" failed. I know how to update the settings but I dont know what they will need to be. Its an @btinternet.com email address that I've used for over 15 years.
Does anyone have experience of this or know how to resolve this issue?

I think the 5s might have different settings as this didnt work. Its telling me the IMAP server "mail.btinternet.com" is not responding verify you have entered the correct account info in mail settings.
Use SSL -YES
IMAP PATH Prefix : blank
server port 465
I dont have the : Authenticate by password in clear text : option only authenicate by password.
Any more ideas?
The settings are generic, they apply to any device. If you are letting the account set up automatically, try setting it up manually and see if that works.
Just noticed the error message is regarding IMAP server. The port for IMAP is 993, 465 is SMTP for the outgoing mails. Thought you were just changing outgoing details.
I'm having exactly the same problem-I have deleted and re-installed my email accoutn several and changed the settings manually but it's still not working!
Any other ideas?

have you checked and rechecked the password?
I've checked the settings several times and manually put them in as well. it keeps saying either 'your username or password is incorrect' or tells me to check my settings.
Not sure how to resolve this issue-may need to call BT tech support! It is a nuisance!!
