I am experiencing irritating problems with BTMail.

Apart from being slow, if I am reading my emails, and a new one arrives, when I click on the next email I wish to read, the focus jumps 3 or 4 emails up the list.
To correct this I have to refresh the list.

Also when I select emails (1 or more) for deletion, after deleting them I get the following message:-

ERROR

An unexpected error has occurred.

This happens on MS Edge browser and Pale Moon browser, and on Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines, both 64 bit.

Any suggestions?

The version is 2.22.1-2

Do you have any extensions added to your browsers? If so, try turning one off then restart browser and try again. Do so for each one to check if it interferes.

Better still use the proper tool for the job, a mail client such as Thunderbird rather than the abomination of webmail.

One should not have to use 3rd party tools for email when one pays for the bt service.

You are not paying for it, it is an included extra. Thunderbird is free and a far better method of dealing with mail than a bodged webpage. As the name suggests, web browsers are designed to browse the web, not deal with email.

I didn't mean to be rude, but any customer should be able to use the supplied extras without fuss and hassle. There should not be a need for 3rd party apps, no matter how good. My main reason for posting was to try and get a response from BT techs, because if they are unaware of problems, they can't fix them. Thanks for recommendation of Thunderbird.

Re: btmail

For information, this is a BT residential customer to customer forum. Your post does not go to BT. The only BT staff are the forum moderators who do not necessarily read all the posts.

As regards your problem, if you have a read through this massive thread regarding BTMail  it mentions your problems somewhere in its contents, and you will see why it was suggested that you use an email client/app which is a far superior way to access and use your email account.

You could also consider using a gmail account which will not tie you to BT because of your email address.
