Have logged into the community this morning with another problem and saw your post. I had the same problem and thought it may have been my system but having read your post I now it wasn't only me that had the problem and it was BT. Having been greeted this morning (Thurs) by the updated message on the email log in page about updating their system and using new software for email it was probably them faffing about with the system.

Yes. Particularly infuriating is that the default response of most organisations (ISPs, banks or whatever) to the reporting of a problem is to try to lead you to believe that the problem is yours, not theirs, when they know it is theirs all along. Why can't they come clean straightaway?
