I have an ipad and 2 macs using mac mail via BT mail. When an email arrives on these three devices both mac mail and BT mail carry a black/blue dot to denote it's yet to be read. When it has been read the dot disappears. But only on the ipad; it stays on the macs as if it is still to be read. If I delete the message on ipad, again it stays on the macs. This happens only on BT mail and not on icloud. What's this about? Help please.
Check to see if you have set the email account up as a POP3 account. It should be set up on all three devices as an IMAP account if you want it to synchronise on all devices.
I have no idea. All I know is that all was fine until last week and this problem suddenly started.
Until you check that, people could just be wasting their time trying to help.
It's IMAP on all three devices. This problem does not occur when using icloud.
Which email app are you using when this happens?
If it is the BTMail app try using a different email app such as the BlueMail app to see if the problem is still there and if it isn't that would tend to point to the app being the problem.
Thank you.
There's no need to introduce another app. BT is the problem. How can such a problem arise? We need it simplified not exacerbated. Isn't this all meant to be super wizzy?
No one has the answer, as usual, despite the pompous nicknames.
As regards the "pompous nicknames" they are part of the forum program and have nothing what so ever to do with the people who have them, just as you are shown to be a "Beginner".
Little doubt BT is the problem however to confirm that "introducing another app" would confirm it, but you apparently have the ability to arrive at that conclusion without the need to try any form of diagnosis so I'll leave you to enlighten the rest of us when you have worked out in a "super wizzy" way "How can such a problem arise."
So there.
