email printing problems

Apologies if I am messaging in the wrong forum.

I am experiencing printing problems with my BT Yahoo emails.  It has suddenly happened over the last 24hrs and I do not know whether it is me that has "done something" or whether there is a another problem somewhere.

When I go to print my mails (or view on the print preview screen) it only shows (and then prints) the Header and Footer of the message but no main text.  On all other programmes everything prints perfectly.  It is just when I try to print my emails.

My operating system is Windows 7 and am using Internet Exploer 9 (I think)

Sorry to be vague as I am not very tech literate when it comes to such matters.

Any help or assistance the community can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Re: email printing problems

I presume it is BTYahoo webmail you are using and not an email client like Windows Mail or Outlook.

Can you print other web pages OK.

Rather than using the Internet Explorer web page print have you tried the print option in the actual email section via the Actions button (cog icon) Click on it then print message.

Re: email printing problems

Hi gg30340
I am using Bt Yahoo web mail. Can print all other web pages OK.
Have tried the cog icon but still the same issue.
I seem to remember a while back you helped me with another printing problem and you suggested resetting my hub3 box which indeed solved the problem. Should I try this again maybe?

Re: email printing problems

I am away from home at the moment using a non BT connection and I have just checked my email and it has the same problem so it might be something to do with BTYahoo servers rather than your homehub but it might by worth trying to reset the hub.

Re: email printing problems

Have tried re-setting my hub3 but still the same problem I am afraid. If it is a BT related problem, then how do I go about getting it solved?

Thanks thus far.

Re: email printing problems

Sounds like an IE9 problem. Try disabling plugins and try compatibility mode.

Hi ray,
How do I do what you suggest. I am a novice at this sort of thing.

Re: email printing problems

To be honest I don't know. I don't use webmail, preferring to use an email client so I have never had to try and sort this problem. May be other forum members will be able to help.

If you need to print your emails you could install an email client like Windows Live Mail, this would allow you to download your email onto your computer and you would be able to print it from there which would bypass the problem.

Setting up an email client is very easy and you can add as many accounts to it as you wish so if you have any other email accounts they can all be managed from it.

This link tells you about Windows Live Mail

If you want to download Windows Live Mail use this link

Re: email printing problems

To get compatability mode look in the address bar where you type WWW. etc and you will see a small icon like a torn page, click on it.
