My mum has recently come off BT broadband and will no longer use or be using the bt email address that she had.
It has been a 3 month struggle to get to this point where she only has her landline, but despite the fact she returned the hub and no longer has the email package, confirmation of this change was sent by email....Have to laugh.
Anyway, finally, after 3 weeks and 2 phone calls she has now received the 'printed copy' of the email in the post only to see that it states that any updates, changes in services and prices re the landline etc will be emailed to her...no longer funny...just frustrating...
As said, she no longer has her hub, she also no longer has her laptop or access to emails and all she really wants is for her email address and past emails to be deleted - as if they never existed and any correspondance to be via normal post.
Having spoken to bt today it appears that billing will be sent by post (result) but her email will still be active. The account is being kept open' in case' she changes her mind? She won't be changing her mind so is there anyone there that can advise how to just delete the BT email account that she no longer wants or has access to? Should this request be made in writing to someone and if so who?
Anyone advice would be appreciated..

Thanks Keith but having tried this method since December with issues on stopping the broadband itself I no longer have confidence....If we need to formally write it would be helpful to know if there is a specific department...this method just seems to take us around in circles...
