I've imported my 94 year old mother's btinternet.com email to my Broadband account. It shows it as active. When I click on options there is an option to "Add to BTID" . Do I need to do this as well in order to keep her email account active?
Her own Broadband account is closing but I want to make sure I keep her own email address active for the time being.
It will already part of your MyBT. You only have one BTID and that will probably be your own "primary" email address.
As long as it is showing as one of your eleven possible email addresses in your MyBT it means it is now part of your BT Broadband account.
What you can do is "gift" it to your mother and she can accept it and set up her own BTID to manage the account.
This would mean that you would not have access to it unless she gives you the password.
If you add it to your BTID it means that you have full control over it and you would be able to access it via a drop down box in your main/favourite email address box and you would have unfettered access to it.
It means it is in effect your email account and would not be possible for your mother to have her own "private" password if that is what she wants.
