For the past few days whenever i try to access my email from windows mail I get an error that the pop3 server has not responded for 300 seconds. I can access through a browser OK and the status page says everything is fine in my area.
Anyone got any ideas?
Are you a BT Broadband customer or paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?
If you are neither of the above your email account will probably have been downgraded to a Basic email account which does not allow the use of email clients/apps.

Thank you for the idea but I am a BT broadband customer so certainly should not have been downgraded, is there anyway anyone know I can check?
Was your email account set up on your present BT Broadband account?
You can check if it is a Basic email account by logging onto your MyBT and going to MyProducts and then to Manage Email.
Can you check that you have the correct server settings.
