Answering an email
Help.
I received an email this afternoon from someone I had not received from before. The email address had a btinternet.com tag so I thought it was legitimate. I receive a number of such emails because of a hobby and I thought it was one of them.
Not so sure now as there was little in the body of the text.
Have I opened myself up for trouble now (he has my first and second names (not middle)?
Is there anyway of finding if the email address he was displaying is legitimate?
Concerned.
Thanks

Re: Answering an email
Did you click on any links?
Did you reply to it?
Did you supply any personal information?
Assuming that the email address has not been spoofed all email addresses are genuine, its the person sending them that might not be genuine.
See link about spoofing.

Re: Answering an email
Thanks for responding.
There was no links but I did reply but only asking who the sender was; did I know him etc.
The email suggested the sender had a request but when there was no forthcoming response to my reply I smelt a rat.
I have blocked the sender. This was all on my mobile and I have run a scan that was clear.

Re: Answering an email
It may be somebody emailed the wrong address by accident.
