Hi,
I have a BT email address (as part of my BT Broadband deal) and I'd like to know how I can set up auto forwarding of emails so that they are sent to a gmail account. Can anyone please help with the latest way to set this up?
Also, can I ask, if I manage to set up autoforwarding... will it mean that I will have two copies of the forwarded email (one in my gmail... and one in the BT email where the message was originally received)? Ideally, I'd want to be able see the email in my gmail account - but still have the original copy in my BT email inbox as well.
Also, will the autoforwarding feature send the entire contents of my BT inbox to my gmail account... or will it ignore messages that were in my inbox before I implemented forwarding (and only forward 'new' messages)?
Many thanks for your help.

Why don't you set up you BT email account on Gmail using BT mail setting for IMAP. That way you you get the full BT email account on Gmail
That's how I now pick up my BT mail and very seldom actually access BT mail
Thank you very much for the rapid reply.
Unfortunately, that may be a bit beyond my capabilities at the moment. I will try to delve into it a bit and see if I can do that in the future. However, is there a quick fix I can implement in the very short term?
Thanks again
In BT webmail, go to Settings>mail>auto- forwarding
You can choose whether to keep a copy of the mail in BT mail. Existing mails in your inbox won't be forwarded, only new mails.
These are the server setting if you need to enter manually
See the following link
Auto-forward in BT Mail | BT Help
You can set it to leave a copy of the forwarding email in your BTMail.
When you set up forwarding it will only send the emails that are received after the set up. It will not forward any emails you have already received.
You would be better to do as @imjolly has suggested and set up your BTMail account in gmail as an IMAP account and it will then show all the folders and emails that are already on the BT servers as well as any you now receive.
See link how to do that.

It should set up without any issues but in case you need the BT server settings see the following link.
