For a very long time I have had a problem with the speed BT email log on and download to my ACER 315 Chromebook.
BT themselves do not seem to be able to help with suggestions such as try clearing the cache, history etc. All tried to know avail.
Other android devices around the home (Google 4a/5 mob, Samsung 8 Tab and Amazon Fire Tab) all work well with BT but not my Chromebook.
Is there an inherent problem with BT & Chromebooks.
It was suggested that as my Chromebook is a few years old (5) it might not be up to the job?
Your help would be appreciated.

Clearly the problem lies with your Chromebook and has nothing to do with BT if your mail is fine on other devices
