Twice in the last week I have been informed by groups.io that emails from their mailing lists have been bounced by the BT email server. On the first occasion I found a number of posts in the spam folder. On the second, groups.io suspended my posts before any more got classified as spam. This irks me because , having been a netizen since 1997, I am perfectly capable of filtering spam. I don't need nanny BT to 'help'.
The posts are to a secondary BT address to my main account which is why I didn't spot the 'spam' on the first occasion.
Can I contact someone at BT to unblock my mailing list posts from groups.io?
In the meantime I have moved my groups.io address to another non-BT address.
Hi @johnson65
Welcome to the community.
Have you been able to mark them as a safe sender? You can see some information on how to do it here on our Using BT Mail's anti-spam features help page.
Chris
I was able to mark the emails on the first occasion before it bounced groups.io's server. However on the second occasion, no emails got through at all. My understanding, having read various posts on this site, is that groups.io's server(s?) has/have got listed on an anti-spam site and BT is 'protecting me'. I've switched groups.io's emails to send to a gmail address.
I do have a selection of addresses from a personal website but their mail server had a tendency to stop working properly with some people's malcrafted emails, necessitating me to 'weed' it via a web interface until I found the post that jammed up its pop3 server. Not much fun on an almost weekly basis.
