YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR EMAIL CLIENT SETTINGS
Hello,

From December 2026, we’re upgrading BT Email to use enhanced secure connections called TLS, or Transport Layer Security. This means your emails will be more private and better protected, giving you extra peace of mind.

What you need to do
If you use an email app or client, like Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird, you’ll need to update your settings so they use a secure TLS connection. This applies to sending and receiving messages, including checking your inbox or sending mail. Just tap Get started to find the steps for your specific email client.
Get started
If you use BT Webmail or the BT Email app, you don't need to do anything. Most modern email apps already support TLS, so updating your settings should only take a moment.

Why this matters
One or more of your email accounts might not be using TLS yet. If your settings are not updated in time, you'll not be able to send or receive emails once this change is in place.

Need help?
Visit our help page or call us on 0330 1234 150. We’ll make sure everything’s set up properly so you can keep emailing without interruption.
Thanks,
BT Customer Support

Re: Client Settings change

Good job it wasn't a scam email because you have posted the email with the active links contained in it which if a forum user clicked on the links and if it was a scam who knows what would problems it may have caused them.

In future if you are posting a suspected scam/spam email please make sure you remove any links so that they do not pose a thread to any of the forum users
