Over the last week I am being prevented from sending any e-mails at all from my laptop because an error message keeps coming up saying that the content may contain malware or phishing, which is completely spurious since my messages are entirely legitimate and proper.
The problem lasted for four days last week, then after I tried sending messages from another computer terminal, when I was similarly unsuccessful, I was able to send messages from my own laptop for about 48 hours, after which the same problem recurred, and is still recurring.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this problem, please ?
All other functions on my laptop are working normally, including receipt of e-mails.
Thank you.
I don't think so - when I had a fruitless session with BT on the 'phone last week, I think that was one of the questions they asked.
Thanks for confirming @devereux.
It's definitely something worth checking.
What was advised during your call?
Katie
Dear Katie,
During my lengthy call with BT technical support various things were tried, such as switching my hub off and on again, and checking my settings, but nothing worked.
However, yesterday the problem once more disappeared of its own volition, although I fully expect it to reappear, as it is clearly a BT technical fault, and nothing to do with my computer.
When the problem was happening for the second time in the days before yesterday, I worked around it by sending messages out via GMail, and I will do that again if the problem recurs.
Therefore, I do not propose to take any further action on the problem myself for the moment at least, but equally I do not consider it to have been solved.
Thank you for your help.

When I worked in industry ( not an IT industry, although of course we had IT for use within our own company ). Between our suppliers ourselves and our customers, we shared our problems, and built up 'trust'.
