How will I be offered the choice of Premium email when leaving BT?

I am leaving BT on 7 May (having been with them for many years), switching to a smaller full fibre company.  I have a few BT email addresses and I want to keep these so I want to opt for the premium BT email service.

What isn’t clear is the mechanism by which I will be given this option.  For example, do I get sent an email from BT giving me the option to pay for premium email?  I have called various BT numbers but no one at BT seems to know.

I understand my email will automatically switch to “basic” but I have also read on BT online sources that my primary BT email address will be automatically converted in this way which kind of suggests my secondary BT email addresses won’t be.

I am just concerned that I will lose the use of some BT email addresses or even lose emails.

Re: How will I be offered the choice of Premium email when leaving BT?

First of all, you won't lose the addresses. Once you have left BT you will be offered the chance to move the addresses to Premium Mail, all of them. It will cost £7.50/m for as many as you have.

If you don't take up the offer, they will all be downgraded to Basic Mail which is only available via webmail.
