Leaving BT and basic email for btopenworld domain

I'm sadly leaving BT after almost 30 years as moving to fibre with another provider.

I will be keeping BT basic email but does anyone know if you keep access to the older btopenworld.com email address as well?

They are one and the same. The @btopenworld and @btinternet are interchangable so if you have either on your BT Broadband they should all be moved to BTMail Basic when you leave BT.
