Not receiving password reset emails from various companies

I have recently tried to reset several passwords from different sites and im not receiving the emails into my inbox/ spam /trash . What is causing this and how can i rectify it please

It is due to BTs over zealous spam filters dropping the emails. The simplest solution is to use Gmail for important communications.

that is the next option but i need to be able to login into said accounts to change the email 😐 it so frustrating
