Scam email "EE Customer Terms of service"

Go to solution

Just a warning to beware!

I received an email today, supposedly from EE/BT regarding my email.  As we recently changed our broadband to EE but still have a BT email account, I was momentarily concerned - until I looked at it properly!  Hovering over the (already odd) sender address, it appeared to actually come from a Hotmail address.  In the text it said that unless I agreed to the new terms and conditions (contained in an attachment, of course) I would no longer have access to my mailbox after 31st April - when I last looked, April has only 30 days!!  I didn't open the attachment, reported it to the EE/BT phishing account and the gov.uk one and blocked the sender.

To many scams out there - be careful!

Hi @MariaH

Thanks for flagging that email and sharing it with the community.

You've done the right thing in the checks you've mentioned and by forwarding the email.
