Unable to send/receive emails when on wifi through the Mail App on iPhone

Hi folks,

 

For a few months now I have been unable to send or receive emails when I'm connected to wifi. This includes both my home wifi and the wifi at my workplace. Limited only to the Apple "Mail" app. the BT mail app works fine.

 

I can send or receive emails just fine when I'm connected to my data connection. 

 

I have tried:

- Uninstalling all VPNs

- Deleting the account and reinstalling the account (I can only reinstall it when on Data. When connected to wifi, it tells me "The IMAP server "mail.btinternet.com" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Incoming Mail Server field"

- Turning my phone off and on again.

- Turning the wifi off and on again.

 

I spent a few hours on with customer care but they were unable to help aside from telling me that I should use the BT mail app instead.

 

Anyone on here facing the same issue, anyone that can help?

Are you a BT Broadband customer?

Have you checked all the settings as per the following link.

BT Email server settings | BT Help

When you say "I can send or receive emails just fine when I'm connected to my data connection" presumably you mean when using your mobile network using 4/5g.

Have you tried turning on "airplane mode" WAITING FOR 10-20 seconds then turning it back on?

Have you tried turning off "Private Wifi Address" on your phone.
