Accessing router - 192.168.1.254 does not work

Go to solution

Apparently I can block certain devices at certain times, by accessing the router. Which I can't do. Both desktop and laptop (Apple) fail to load the page when I type in 192.168.1.254.

Please advise, and also on how to timeblock the devices once I'm there.

Thank you.

You could try http://bthomehub.home as an alternative.  If that still doesn't work, try resetting the Hub usung the Reset button.  But do this once only, or you risk messing up your broadband speed.

If you can get in, go to Settings and enter the admin password when requested - if you haven't changed it then it's on the label on the Hub.

Then go to BT Access Control.  That's where you can turn the feature on, select the devices to block and when to block them.

A few things to be aware of:

  1. If a device is already connected at the selected time, then it isn't disconnected.  This may render the feature completely useless to you.
  2. Anybody with physical access to the Home Hub can just reset it and turn the controls off again.
  3. Anybody who knows the admin password can also reset the controls.
