1.Can't contact BT 2. Can't change to digital as have no mobile.

A BT SMS message announced a date of visit to change analogue to digital that I hadn't agreed to. It can't be done. I couldn't contact them online as the online address was spoken too fast and unclearly to note down. I tried phoning but was cut off mid call after they couldn't recognise me because they only have my old email address. I got a bit flustered and in retrospect they may have mistaken this as suspicious. I tried phoning 3 more times and was  cut off earlier each time. I tried the alternate number and the same happened. I now didn't know if my phone had suddenly become faulty or  they were frustrating me deliberately. I tried contacting them online. I couldn't because they don't recognise me because they have the wrong email address. I couldn't register online to communicate for the same reason. I couldn't email them either for the same reason. So although I am a longstanding customer there was no way to communicate with them, and this is my final, indirect, recourse.  In any case I'm a pensioner in imperfect health who may need to phone an ambulance but don't have a working mobile so I can't change to digital as I may be unable to make or receive crucial calls. Can I stay on an analogue landline because of this? Thanks

Hi there @JohnNeedingHelp.

I've just sent you over a private message so we can take a few more details about this.

BT Community moderator asks for my details but BT algorithm blocks the email addresses in my reply!

A BT Community moderator asked for my details but it seems that a BT algorithm pops up to block the email addresses in my reply, falsely claiming that they are invalid! I've done nothing wrong! This is ridiculous and obstructive!

Did you try and reply to the personal message you received or were you trying to post the information on forum?

Rather pointless starting a second thread instead of replying to the original, where the Mod will see it.

But as a new member, it may simply be an anti-spam measure. Just substitute the letters causing a hyperlink. So if the email address is john.doe@domain.com, make it john.doe AT domain DOT com.

Edit:
Threads now merged.

Re: BT Community moderator asks for my details but BT algorithm blocks the email addresses in my rep

I tried something similar which was still blocked. I have complicated reactive depression, anxiety and PTSD which, after hours of my pointless effort trying to make what should be a simple, straightforward communication, leave me unable to cope with any more Kafkaesque tangles like this. My mind now freezes on the subject, I can't process it, and I have to stop thinking about it so that I don't become too anxious, panicky and depressed. I have tried my best to communicate that BT can't visit my home. If BT's obstructive communications pathways have blocked all my various and persistent efforts to communicate then the consequences are BT's fault, not mine.

if you select 'private message' in post 2 then that takes you to your messages then select the mods message and when that opens then select reply.  as system accepted your forum  email address when delivering the mod message then there should be no problems when you reply
