Thank you.
Hopefully BT will contact me and that will be the solution as it seems the simplest.
Hello
Thank you.
It's a wired extension.
The router is downstairs and the computer is upstairs.
I'll find out about IM Jolly's suggestion.
I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties this has caused for both you and your Dad and I would like to get you some help. To do this I have sent you a private message for some extra details.
Leanne.
If you do go down the wired extension route, the extension wiring needs disconnecting from the master phone socket* and then you can use a BT plug to BT plug lead to connect the nearest extension socket to the Smart Hub.
*If it is still a Part-Fibre (FTTC) connection, with the hub still connected to the master phone socket, then you still need the wires coming in from outside, so don’t disconnect them. If it is Full Fibre (FTTP), the master socket is redundant.
Sounds like you haven't read the thread at all, just jumped in without any research.
Please can you read this thread and get the person we have been dealing with, who phoned me 3 times and sent me an email that I have replied to, to reply to my email.
Communication should be simple for a communications company I'd have thought.
But that is the main problem with BT. You are abysmal at communication.
I can see that @Leanne_T reached out to you for some more details so we can help ensure this is picked back up.
Typically once we flag this they can see if someone is actively managing the case and prompt them to get back in touch, but sometimes our team can take holiday or have midweek days off, so in those cases we would review what the best option to manage it in the interim.
If you can please reply to her PM with the requested details, we'll do our best to make sure you're able to move forwards with things.
Peter
Are you honestly telling you don't have access to the details I've already provided?
That's frankly unbelievable.
You're the largest communications company in Britain and you can't see what information I've provided before?
Exactly how many staff are there in the Executive Office to deal with complaints?
It's beginning to sound like a call centre of 200 or 300 maybe a 1,000 if you can't identify an agent, so there must be a lot of complaints.
Surely someone in the Executive Office should pick up the email I sent if the person I dealt with previously is on Annual Leave?
Having created a business from my kitchen table and grown it to be the best in it's field in the world, I know how my business would have dealt with this if someone was off, whatever the reason for absence. It wouldn't be to ask the paying customer to re-send their details.
If you can buy/get a "normal" cordless phone base station set with an additional cordless phone handset you just plug the base station into the phone socket on the BT hub and set the additional to work with the base station and it will all work just as any other DECT cordless phone system does.
Your father can have the additional phone handset placed anywhere he wants within the house.
@Midsummer100 With all due respect, whilst I can absolutely see the details you have sent us in the past, we would never make an assumption around contact details.
Leanne reached out to help you in good faith here, and doing so in PM means we can clarify nothing has changed, and discuss any more details around the case that may not be appropriate for a public forum.
I'll absolutely get this chased for you now though.
Peter
