Advanced digital voice phone with Alexa built-in

Could anyone please tell me if these Alexa phones are locked in to only work with BT Smart Hubs or if they’ll work with any router?

They are specifically made for BT's Digital Voice service which requires the use of the BT Smart Hub 2

The phones are DECT, and connect to the DECT base station in the Smart Hub 2, so would not work with any other router.

Thank you for the rapid reply, we have got the Smart Hub 2 but have been pondering changing it to an Asus so is there absolutely no work around?

No, you have to use the Smart Hub 2 as the main router, but you could connect the Asus to a LAN port on the SH2, and use it either  a wireless access point, or as an additional router on a different subnet. That can give issues with remote access from the Internet.

Sorry about the very late reply, thank you for clearing that up for me. We’ll stick with the Smart Hub 2 then.
