Hello all
Currently have 2 phones in the house. One plugged in to the router upstairs and one downstairs in to a DVA in a wall socket. They are both analog landline phones.
The upstairs line is functioning as normal. No beeping at all.
Downstairs DVA phone is constantly beeping frequently every and can not make calls. It can receive calls, but when I dial any number nothing happens. I have changed the batteries even though it doesn't need them, the phone was previously working fine.
I'm in a position where I could do with fixing this as my elderly mother with dementia is basically bound to the lower floor. If she were to need 999 that's her only way of contacting them short of me calling via mobile or upstairs phone.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I have already tried re-syncing it with the router and DVA button.

Have you tried swapping the phones? Does the fault follow the phone or the DVA?
Sounds like the DVA is a bit to far from hub and dropping the DECT connection intermittently
I tried swapping the phones over. When I took the downstairs phone and plugged it in to the router, it was dead. No tone or anything. If I'm honest the phone must be 15+ years old so I have no qualms about swapping it.
I guess my new question is: Does a digital handset need a DVA and plug or can the base unit connect to the router wirelessly from another room?
There is a lot of confusion about handsets.
BT Digital Voice handsets connect directly to the built in DECT base station in the hub. If you mean a handset that connects to a normal cordless base station, then yes, you need a DVA. It is possible to register a normal cordless handset to the hub but you will lose some features.
