Hi. A friend of mine has the 1571 answer phone service enabled on hee new digital service. The issue is that all three of her new handsets are displaying the answer phone icon on their displays (and the main handset is doing the periodic message beep) BUT there are no messages when accessing the service via either the answerphone button on the handset or direct sailing of 1571. Can anyone advise what the issue is and how it can be resolved please? Thanks in advance
I seem to recall this was flagged recently after a 1571 upgrade & the fix was to call your own number from a mobile, leave a message & then delete it. I'll see if I can find the thread.
Edit:
Hi. Thanks for the input. You are correct as I called her landline from
my mobile, left a message, which she played and deleted, and indeed the answerphone icon on the display was cleared!
Thats obviously a workaround but not helping her to know visually if she actually has a message in the issue situation, nor does it stop the alert beep (which I have disabled for now hoping there may be a full solution) 😊 Cheers
It seemed to be a one off glitch in the changeover. Not seen any reports since, which suggests it's not a widespread or recurring problem - yet...
Ahh that sounds hopeful. I’ll cross my fingers and keep an eye on her phone when I next visit (she is a very heavy landline user) 😊 Thanks again for your help 😎
