Hi, this is not a question but advice based on my experience. BT outsource their BT Home Tech service to Qubegb. My best advice if it's suggested that someone from Qubegb attends then say don't bother. I had issues with WiFi speed, not speed to the house but WiFi speed. Since moving to fibre my speed was lower than copper. Didn't understand why changing to fibre would make the WiFi speed lower. No change to the hub, same hub, same settings just no longer copper cable but now fibre via an ont (ethernet from ont to router). Absolutely nothing changed with the router or settings yet speeds never got above 50Mbps despite a min guarantee of 700Mbps to the house. Openreach confirmed no issues with fibre to house and that was hitting the min. So BT Home Tech appointment arranged for an 'expert' to check everything and make sure set up the best way. Qubegb expert engineer arrives after first phoning me to say he can't find my house, he was rude with his opening line being abruptly why am I here and then he couldn't wait to leave. All he was interested in was what the speed was to the house. The all idea of Home Tech is to set up the house the best way to get the best from WiFi. He changed one setting on my router then left, changed the mode from 1 to 2. He wasn't interested in anything like hybrid connect or the WiFi extenders. Put simply the 5 mins he was in my house was a complete waste of time and the setting he changed caused me more hassle. I'm tech savvy, just a pity this engineer wasn't. If I wanted to know the speed to my house then I would insist on an Openreach engineer not a so called expert who's job it is to set up your house setup the best way. Why BT would damage their reputation by using this company is a mystery. So if a BT Home Tech is on the cards ask first will it be from this company, if it is then really don't bother.
