Hi, we recently signed up with Sky and BT OPENREACH installed our BB and checked existing BT Line but, when we try calling our “new” landline number from another phone, the telephone does not ring?
We can hear our phone calling but no response from the BT Verve 450 Plus base/handset?
Note: The handset battery was fully charged!
So, I am wondering if Sky made a mistake when allocating our telephone number? I.e. One or more of the digits is incorrect?

This has nothing to do with BT Retail who run this forum. You need to contact Sky, or post on their user forum. Sky Help Forum - Help & Support from the Official Sky Forum
BT Openreach do not exist, it just Openreach, who work for most other providers.
There is no such thing as a "BT Line" anymore. Its an Openreach line.
Openreach installed it at the request of Sky so you will need to contact Sky. Openreach are not customer facing.
And as Keith says this forum is for BT Retail/Consumer not Openreach.
