Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

For the last time, it is NOT a DV problem. You don't even need your base station to be connected to line in order to communicate between handsets so how can it possibly be due to DV?

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

It is a problem with DV, It doesn't work with my phone. Just repeating that there is no problem with DV is not helpful.

If you have any further suggestions to get a working phone line at night, please post. Otherwise this is going round in circles. Thank you.

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

@licquorice Given that it may well be a problem with the hub DECT somehow interfering with the Base Station DECT , can the hub DECT be disabled to prove it?

If not, and appreciate it may be a bit bonkers, but could the hub perhaps be placed in a large biscuit tin or some such just to stop it interfering and proving the fault?

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

@pddco

you are covering old ground as I have already suggested just moving the 3510 base unit away from hub to see if the extension phones will connect but seems to be falling on deaf ears.  @Lila  is convinced it is DV fault but DV works fine with base unit and with corded phone

you cannot disable the Sh2 dect base but you could turn of the SH2 then see if the the extension phones connect to base

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

I think I have covered all of this already, but I'll try again:

it isn't possible to move the base away from the hub. The base has always lived by the hub with no issues from intereference from the hub.

the extension phones connect to the base - said this yesterday - as we tried at a different address.

Please do not say this is falling on deaf ears. At the moment I am unable to get hold of the emergency services in the night due to this switch and the ambulance service can't get hold of me. This is extremely stressful.  I would therefore really appreciate it if you stopped repeating 'there is not a probelm with digital voice' as it is not a helpful comment.

Adaptors only work for corded phones so won't work if you have a cordless phone. BT charge £15 for these.

That is true, but it is a way for you to restore service to extensions and so give you phone service at night, which you say is vital. Just get 2 DV adapters (the first one should be free) and plug them into mains sockets where you want your extension phones to be. Then buy two cheap corded phones and plug them into the adapters. Voila....you have your extension phones!

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

@Lila Appreciate this is very stressful, and everyone on the forum is trying to help and really not trying to make it worse. Yes, from your position it seems that the DV service is the issue. But the technical people amongst us know that from the tests you’ve done - such as plugging directly into the hub with a corded phone - and it working, proves that at least the DV service itself is working - calls can be made and received to a phone - albeit a corded one.  But clearly something’s messing up the cordless phone.

One suggestion is that it’s possible that the hub - which is now also behaving as a cordless base station too (A DECT base station) is somehow interfering with your existing 3510 setup.

Which is why you’ve been asked to try moving the hub and 3510 base station away from each other… to see if that sorts the issue out.

You could also turn the hub off to see if the extensions will then connect to the 3510 base station.

If trying these options improves / changes things then at least we’ll know we’re on the right track trying to sort the problem out.

Does this help?

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

@Lila

The fact you have tried connecting the extension phone at another address shows they do connect to the base but that does not show that they do not connect to the base in your home - from all your post we know they don't connect.  I don't know why you just don't try the suggestion on separating the SH2 from the 3510 base as having 2 DECT base stations next to each other may well be interfering with each other and the cause of your problem. You also could power off the SH2 and see if the extension phones now connect to 3510 base.  If they connect now that confirms the problem is interference with 2 DECT bases next to each other

Re: Can't use phone extension with digital voice. NO MOBILE SIGNAL

Hello @Lila  did this get sorted?

Can you now use your 3510 handsets as before? If so, what did you do to make it work.

Curious as when  I get digital voice I too may be in the same situation as my cordless base station is very near the hub. Thanks.
