Change number but account holder is unable to speak

Hi everyone, my grandfather has recently come out of hospital and is unable to speak due to a tracheostomy but wishes to change his number as he’s been receiving abusive calls from a previous friend.

we called BT but rather unhelpfully they advised they needed to speak with the account holder, which he clearly can’t do. Is there any other way that he can give his consent so that one of us can help him? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Re: Change number but account holder is unable to speak

Hi, yes we can but there’s a wider need for us to help him manage his account until he gets a bit better too. I also think he just wants a fresh start. But I’ll ask him. Thanks
