Connection issue

Go to solution

Can anyone advise? For over a month I have had trouble phoning another BT landline number - I dial and get a ringing tone but there is no ring at the other end. The person at the other number can ring me with no problem and both phones are communicating effectively with other numbers.

Suggestions?

Thanks

@bob6

The fault would be at the receiving end, most likely an fault on the line card in the exchange they are connected to, its quite a common fault.

They need to report it BT as no incoming ring, but they need to check at the test socket first, with a known good phone, to avoid a possible charge.

The fact you can hear ringing tone, does not mean the other end is ringing out, it simply means that the connection has been established to their exchange.
