A word of warning re digital "migration" - despite being reassured by 3 guides that we would retain our landline until an engineer could come to install the new hub - we lost our line and now have to wait until Monday for an engineer to arrive. My husband is 91 elderly, and sick. We are now dependent on a mobile which is even older than we are. In addition, I now find that we have to pay £40 for the engineer to attend. Beware digital migration (and just what whizz kid thought up that name - wouldn't "switchover" been simpler).
did you receive a new router from BT for your digital switchover? are you able to get someone to help you as it only requires the replacing of existing BT router with the new router (Straightforward unplug existing router and plug in new router) and then connecting your existing phone cable to the green socket on the back of the new router
Thank you ImJolly - yep - received the new hub, but have decided to leave it to the engineer - I still have broadband connection and don't want to do anything which might upset it. (Got down to check phone connections and couldn't get up - thought we might have to phone the Fire Brigade - if only we had a phone ......)
It's worth giving it a go.
It shouldn't involve changing any settings, just disconnecting the old one and plugging the new one in.
Just make a note of what's plugged in where when you take the old one off, so you can put it back the same way. If it works, you've saved yourself £40. If it doesn't, just but the old hub back as it was.
Hi @IneptOAP.
Welcome to the BT Community!
I'm keen to make sure we've done all we can to support you with this, so I've popped you over a private message so we can take a closer look into things.
