Digital Voice advanced handsets -- Why aren't contacts stored alphabetically

Digital Voice advanced handsets -- Why aren't contacts stored alphabetically?  It is very annoying when looking for little used contact.   Is there a way to force this.   It seems bizarre that this not the default.

Hi @CornishRambler 

All of my DV phone contacts are stored automatically by first name.
