Digital Voice

Go to solution

Hello.

Re Digital Voice:

My landline point of entry is in the hallway, above it in the master bedroom is an extension point running directly from the point in the hall - the bedroom extension point is connected to a Caller Display unit. The broadband point of entry and Home Hub 2 is located in another upstairs bedroom. Will I need two adaptors, one for each landline point? Please advise.

Digital Voice is a DECT (cordless) phone system. The hub is the base station and you will be supplied with either 2basic or 1 advanced cordless handsets.

The adapter is simply a DECT to corded phone adapter, i.e it receives the cordless signal from the hub and provides an analogue socket for a corded phone.

This is what the BT email says: "If your phone currently plugs into a different location to your Smart Hub 2, you can remotely connect a Digital Voice home phone or use an adapter. You can order either one adapter or a Digital Voice home phone free of charge from bt.com/DVequipment or TEXT the word ADAPTER or HANDSET to 61998.”
Would I need one of each as it says “One”?

Re: Digital Voice

It's entirely up to you as to what you want. I was attempting to describe what Digital Voice is. There is no need for fixed corded phones unless you really want them. If you do, you will need an adapter for each location you require to have a phone.

The location of existing phone sockets is irrelevant, the adapter is to all intents and purposes a cordless phone with a socket for a corded phone and can be located anywhere.
