The DV phone we were sent, you have to ask for it or a converter for a normal phone, is great.  We have abandoned our DECT phone because the new phone works a treat.

I agree.  I started off with an adapter and my existing BT Synology DECT phones but switched to the BT DV handsets within a couple of weeks...

We know it works, the OP has been using it, ergo it has DV.

Yes, I do. That's obviously the answer for me but I was more worried about my elderly inlaws who might be unable to find their mobiles in an emergency.
