Disconnecting the legacy copper wiring from the BT Main Socket

Go to solution
Hi All I recently had FTTP installed at my house, I have the VOIP phone connected ok but my wife would like the old phone active as well as this has an answer phone and call blocker in built. I know I can plug it in to the back of the router, but I would like to re use the phone sockets already in the house for a wired phone and also my Alarm system. Is it ok to disconnect the old Copper wiring from the old BT Master socket so the socket can be re used in my new setup? Or is this still a no tamper thing?

This is already covered in DV FAQ. https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-phone-including-Digital/Digital-Voice-FAQs/m-p/2207485

@DSCW469 did those links solve your problem?

what did you actually do to get your alarm working with a standard phone? I have the same problem.

I’m currently on FTTC but considering FTTP at some point
