Not sure if this is the correct board but I can't find a board for old school 🙂
Grandmas house, old ordinary phone line, no broadband or anything, just the house phone.
Today the phone has started ringing constant. I've been around to her house. Plugged it directly into the test socket and still the same issue.
Another family member has phoned in the fault who have said there is nothing wrong with the line.
I'm at a lose end, any suggestions? It's difficult asking her to do anything with her being in her 80's
This is just a customer to customer help forum, everyone here, including myself, are just customers.
The only BT Employees are the forum moderators.
Try calling 0800 800 150
Please edit out the fault reference, as that information is private.
Thanks
Thanks for moving the post Keith. Reference removed.
We've tried the customer services and keep getting the same response 'line test shows no issues'
I went to argos and bought another phone, exactly the same.
When you answer the continuous ring it's just a extremely noisy crackly line.
To make it worse I can't get a bloody mobile signal at her home making the logistics of sorting a nightmare.
Any suggestions on the type of fault she's experiencing?
Its most likely an exchange equipment fault. This would not show up on the BT line test.
