Re: Landline

You'll need to provide some more information before anyone on this customer-to-customer forum can offer any help.

Has your landline allowed incoming calls before and has just stopped working?

Does anyone trying the call you hear a ring tone OK? If so, it may just be your ringer that has stopped working

Does your landline allow outgoing calls to go ahead OK?

Are you on the old analogue phone system (phone plugged intro BT socket on the wall), or are you on Digital Voice (phone plugged into socket on back of broadband router)

Re: Landline

Unfortunately, you are just talking to a customer to customer help forum here.  This is not BT, as such, and the only BT employees are the moderators, who don't have account access.

Your best bet is to phone customer services.

Re: Landline

If this is a new line (presumably you mean recently installed/taken over ) then if you took a telephone service with your broadband then your phone should be  connected  to your broadband router socket not the wall socket (even if the router is  connected to the socket on the wall )

FYI , this forum is a BT customer to BT customer one , what you post here isn’t the same as communication directly with BT , if you need to speak to BT , this forum isn’t a way to accomplish that , you need to do that separately,  not from here as there is no guarantee anyone from BT will see this , and even if a moderator does , they simply advise you to contact BT .

Re: Landline

I have just connected with Digital Voice - everything is connected properly Hub etc

On the new phone I have been sent I can make calls but not receive calls. There is a Cx Display Icon indicates the landline is out of service.

I have completed an email questionnaire on what services I want from BT an hour ago.

I have contacted BT Helpline  they said they can PROBABLY fix it  by the end of Friday 31st July. However they did not seem confident.

Re: Landline

The phone is working - there is a noise when I pick up the receiver.

I could receive calls on the old BT Landline service which is now disconnected on Monday 27th July.

Re: Landline

Have you moved from another provider or had a new service? Did BT send a new Hub (router), also what broadband did you order? As @iniltous said if it's Digital Voice you need to connect the landline cable to the Hub for it to work.

Kind Regards

Re: Landline

it may need looking into as digital voice is part of the broadband service, if the service has recently gone live there maybe a technical fault that needs resolving.

Did they advise what to do if it has not been resolved by tomorrow ?
