The broken one((i've just found it) has adsl v1.0 on the front, i don't have any extensions around the house anymore, i have bought a single socket from bnq it has no markings on it just the makers MK
Then its probably the wrong type, as it needs to be a master socket with the extra components inside. It must have that extra component in it, plus a resistor and lightning protector.
The correct replacement would be an NTE5C with a MK4 faceplate as shown here.
Aaaah, so if i buy a socket as pictured it will work?
The direct replacement for your broken one, is described on my last post.
Look at the part about the MK4 filter, on that document.
You can buy the whole unit for about £15.
