The only drawback with using a VoIP provider ( anecdotally ) seems to be that although very good at accepting numbers ( porting them in ) they seem less accomplished when asked to export one , so if going down the traditional Voip route , I would do so accepting that the number will probably not be ‘portable’ anymore and will remain with that VoIP provider, however any subsequent change of broadband provider won’t affect the phone number.
