Old rotary phone question
Hello all, I have an Anvers Belgique vintage bell telephone,
Rotary dial. I am able to call out from it to my son's mobile and can hear him but he can't hear me. Equally to my mobile. I can also call in from my mobile and it rings but the person answering the rotary phone can hear me but I can't hear them. Any suggestions?

Re: Old rotary phone question
Hi @ClaireBSW6
Welcome to the community.
I've not seen a phone like that in a long time.
Are you finding that the same thing happens with calls to and from other numbers, or do they seem to be working fine?

Re: Old rotary phone question
Hi, I've tried calling a landline and, again, I can hear them but they can't hear me...

Re: Old rotary phone question
Is it just when using that particular instrument or is it with any phone?

Re: Old rotary phone question
Just with this instrument from my landline end. Receiver end landlines have no trouble with other calls.
That said, but I have no other landline instrument to try .. although it was working fine when we did....

Re: Old rotary phone question
Then there's a fair to middling chance it has gone faulty. It probably even has a carbon granule microphone which are prone to going faulty.
I suggest you try another phone to confirm that.

Ok, thank you for the suggestion. I'll try to find another landline to test.
