Phone intermittently not dialing-out
Compared with some of the problems on here this should be a very simple one!
We have a new BT phone which intermittently fails to dial the number at end of the dial-out sequence.
The phone is a BT one, brand new and the other phone suffered the same problem so not a phone problem.
The problem seems to be temporarily fixed by removing the phone line from the Master socket and replacing but problem returns later on.
Any help much appreciated!

Re: Phone intermittently not dialing-out
Probably poor line quality, or a faulty port on the exchange line card, which are well past their useful life, hence the pending move to BT Digital Voice.
You could try initiating a line test to see if it clears the problem. That causes a number of mechanical relays to operate on both the line card, and the Line Test System. This can clear high resistance relay contacts.
